Better Health Group was established in 2009 with the objective of developing a more sustainable future for general practice.

Working in partnership with GP owners, the team at Better Health helps practice owners turn their medical practices into more valuable, sustainable businesses whilst retaining the very heart and soul of general practice. This is usually done as part of a succession planning process when one or more of the business owners is looking to retire.

Better Health Group has invested in many practices across the South Island with varying degrees of ownership. The team provide long-term administration services as well as advice and support in practice management, finance, payroll, HR and recruitment.

In 2024 Better Health Group was bought by Tend Health, a prominent Kiwi-owned primary healthcare provider and technology company.
